LockGuard Privacy Policy
Version: V1.0
Effective date: November 8, 2026
Last updated: November 8, 2026
LockGuard (the "App") is an app-protection and local private-content management tool for iOS / iPadOS. We respect and protect your personal information. This policy explains what information we process, the rights you have, and how you can contact us.
Our core commitment: your app selections, protection plans, passcode material, vault contents and intruder-capture photos are processed and stored encrypted on your device. We do not upload them to our servers.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the entire process of downloading, installing and using the App and related services. The App has no general account system; most features work locally and do not require signing in.
2. Information we process
2.1 Information you provide
- Contact email: the optional email you enter in "Feedback", or the email bound in "Recovery email" for passcode recovery.
- Feedback content: the feedback type, problem description and any diagnostic information you choose to submit.
2.2 Information processed on your device to provide features
- Protection configuration: the apps you choose to protect or hide, lock schedules and protection modes. Selected apps are stored as system-provided tokens on your device only.
- Passcode material: your 6-digit access passcode is processed by a key derivation function and stored in the system Keychain. We do not store or recover your plaintext passcode.
- Vault contents: photos and files you import are stored encrypted inside the App sandbox on your device.
- Intruder capture: photos are taken only when you enable this feature, the App is in the foreground, and passcode verification fails. They are stored encrypted on your device.
- Unlock and lock records: time, app and result, shown in "Unlock log" and stored on your device.
- Location coordinates: the center and radius of protection areas you select on the map, stored on your device for location triggers.
2.3 Purchase and subscription information
Membership is purchased through Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit). We do not access your card number, billing address or other payment information. To verify entitlements, we read the product information, transaction receipts and subscription status returned by Apple.
2.4 Diagnostics and feedback
Only when you choose to submit, your feedback may include device model, system version, app version and error logs. We do not automatically attach app identifiers, passcodes, vault contents, intruder photos, precise location or full screenshots.
3. System permissions and purposes
The permissions below are requested only when you enable the corresponding feature. Declining them does not affect other features, but the related feature stays off.
| Permission | Purpose | When requested |
| Screen Time (Family Controls / Device Activity) | Identify and restrict the apps you select, enabling app protection and hiding | When you first enable app protection |
| Notifications | Send protection status and re-lock reminders | When you enable the relevant reminders |
| Camera | Intruder capture | When the App is in the foreground, capture is enabled and passcode verification fails |
| Location (While Using / Always) | Pick a point on the map and switch protection modes when entering an area | When you use location features; background triggers require "Always" |
| Photos | Import into the vault; access only when you confirm deleting the original photos | When you make the selection |
| Face ID / Touch ID | Replace the passcode for local verification | When you enable biometrics |
4. Storage and protection
- Local data is stored using the system's encryption capabilities and file protection levels; passcode material is stored in the Keychain.
- Communication with our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Recovery email binding and verification records are stored in the cloud service we use, solely to send verification codes and complete passcode recovery. Verification codes and recovery credentials have expiration times, usage limits and rate limits.
- The cloud service we use may be located outside the People's Republic of China. Where cross-border transfer is involved, we will fulfill our notification obligations and obtain your consent in accordance with the law.
- We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and delete or anonymize it afterwards.
5. Sharing, transfer and disclosure
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We share information only as necessary with: Apple (In-App Purchase and subscription verification), an email delivery provider (sending verification codes) and a cloud hosting provider (storing email binding records and legal text pages). These providers can access only the information necessary for their services.
- We do not disclose your information to third parties except as required by laws and regulations or by lawful requests from judicial or administrative authorities.
- In the event of a merger, division or asset transfer, we will require the successor to remain bound by this policy, or otherwise seek your consent again.
6. Your rights
- Access and copy: you can view protection settings, unlock logs and vault contents in the App.
- Correct and delete: you can change settings and delete vault contents and logs in the App. Uninstalling the App deletes data stored on the device, so please export important files in advance.
- Withdraw consent: you can turn off Screen Time, Location, Camera, Photos and other permissions in system Settings, or turn off the related features in the App.
- Unbind the recovery email: after completing local verification, you can change or unbind it.
- Delete feedback records: you can contact us to delete the feedback and contact email you submitted.
We will respond within 15 business days after receiving your request.
7. Minors
The App is intended for general users. Minors under 14 should use the App with the consent and guidance of a guardian. We do not intentionally collect children's personal information; guardians who become aware of such a situation may contact us to have it deleted.
8. Third-party services
- Apple StoreKit: used for subscription purchase, restore purchase and entitlement verification, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- Cloud hosting and email services: used to host this policy and the Terms of Service pages and to send email verification codes.
- If we introduce advertising or third-party analytics in the future, we will enable them only after updating this policy and notifying you.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated due to feature changes or legal requirements. For material changes, we will notify you in the App and explain what changed. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Prior versions are available on request.
10. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or wish to exercise the rights above, please submit them via "Settings → Feedback" in the App. We will reply as soon as possible.
